Rangely adds a documented wrinkle. Its August and October 2025 police reports show that some arrests were booked into Moffat County Jail. A specific Rangely event may therefore require Rangely Police for the incident record and the receiving jail for custody details.

The RBSO request is a CCJRA process. The county's general CORA form expressly excludes sheriff records, so sending the request there can delay the search.

Rio Blanco Jail or CDOC
County jail custody and state prison custody are different records. RBSO holds the local custody entry. Its search uses a DOC number or name and may display name, DOC number, age, sex, facility or supervision status, and projected or parole-related dates.
